THE KILLER QUEEN

BIOGRAPHY

Lauren Turner is a Texas born vocalist, and has respectfully been given the title of an "International Gay Icon." Growing up, she realized early she had a voice that could fill the room. Listening to legends like Whitney Houston, Carole King, and Mariah Carey, Lauren was well on her way to finding the stage to be home. Pursuing this gift and becoming a Bachelor of Music graduate from Belmont University's prestigious Music Program, Lauren left school and was immediately cast as Jan in the First National Tour of the Broadway Musical Grease!.

Lauren spent the next year on a sold out tour honing her unique vocal performance that has made her a favorite in NYC Cabaret Scene. For the last 10 years Lauren has performed all over NYC in popular night clubs like Feinstein's/54 Below and The Duplex, but has been a staple at the Legendary Cabaret Theatre Don't Tell Mama, in the heart of the Theatre District. Appearing nightly in the World Famous Piano Bar, Lauren has joined the company of Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler, Rosie O’Donnell, Chita Rivera, Jenifer Lewis, Audra MacDonald, and Kristin Chenoweth just to name a few who have made appearances at this landmark club on Restaurant Row. Lauren has been featured in the MAC Award Winning Series, Ricky Ritzel's 'Broadway', Broadway Boozy Brunch, and The New Years Eve Extravaganza.

While not entertaining the masses that come to NYC to catch a rising star, Lauren has been seen as Tracy Turnblad (Hairspray) at Wagon Wheel Theatre, Soupy Sue (Urinetown) at The Secret Theatre, Prudie Cupp (Pump Boys and Dinettes) at Chenango River Theatre, and Patsy Cline (Always... Patsy Cline) at Post Playhouse, and Diva/Shirley (Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) for Norwegian Cruise Line. For the last six years, Lauren has been seen internationally as The Killer Queen in the West End Hit We Will Rock You on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.

This diva in the wings is ready to share some of her favorite songs and stories on this exciting new album featuring hits by James Taylor, Don Henley, and the Jackson 5.  This album produced by Mitchell Walker, featuring Michael Isaacs on piano, Daniel Muniz on guitar and background vocals by Tara Martinez, is sure to be a good time. PLAY ON will give you the throwback vibes you can chill to and the emotional raw vocals you want.
